Young Families

Young Families range from nearly and newly weds to couples with elementary age children. Our ministry exists to keep our spiritual lives vital during this exciting and challenging phase of life.

Sunday Morning Classes

Our Sunday morning community class begins with a continental breakfast from 8:45-9:30, followed by an engaging teaching from God’s Word and directed discussion. During the week we offer various small groups, fellowships, and ministry opportunities.

Young Families Community Class

Teacher: David Watson
Room 623

Our class is dedicated to discipleship and community. We begin the morning with a conversation over a continental breakfast, which begins at 8:45. Our Bible study is a conversational exposition of the deep truths of Scripture. We believe that our ability to lead quality lives as spouses, parents, neighbors, and co-workers flows directly from the integrity we have in our relationship with Christ. Our gatherings are characterized by dialogue and rich community. The conversations and study that we offer are strategically used to fulfill our purpose, which is life-change for the glory of God and the building and equipping of the body of Christ.

Young Families – The Journey

Teacher: Robin Burruss
Room 617

We are a young families class for married couples in their 30s and 40s with elementary children. Our Bible studies are topical studies with rich, authentic dialogue. Discussions are driven by Scripture, with emphasis placed on the truth of God’s Word experienced in the lives of those in the group. The class begins with the young families community breakfast at 8:45 and gathers for Bible study at 9:20.

Fellowship Groups

Hitched | Married Couples without Children

Hitched is a fellowship group designed specifically for married couples with no kids.  It is a bridge ministry that exists in both Young Adult Ministry and the Young Families Ministry.  If you are looking to connect with some other newly married couples and to hear about how to keep your marriage alive and vibrant this is the place for you.

We meet monthly for dinner at a local restaurant then go to David Watson’s house for dessert, coffee, and some conversation.  We invite a married couple that are several chapters a head of us in this journey to come speak to us about what they have learned about marriage throughout the years. If you are interested in being added to the email list to be notified of upcoming events please email youngfamilies@apostles.org.

Hatched | Married Couples with Children

Hatched provides a mentoring opportunity for young parents on a monthly basis for one simple reason.  Parenting is hard.  It’s not hard just because you’re learning to take care of a child.  It’s also hard because you are learning how to be married to someone who is learning to raise a child.  Balancing a healthy, growing marriage and raising and nurturing children quickly brings young parents to the realization that there are lessons to be learned and wisdom to be gained.  In Hatched, we want to equip you each month with some time with other parents to share stories, compare notes, and gain insight.   We also invite guest speakers for each gathering that have the experience to speak into our lives and the commitment to Christ to make their words trustworthy.

Each Hatched gathering meets at the home of David Watson for dessert, coffee, and conversation.  If you’d like to learn more about Hatched and related opportunities to connect with young parents, please email youngfamilies@apostles.org.
