Deborah Dunbar // Why are we being… canceled?

It really wasn’t until June of 2020 that I began to have issues with the two Facebook pages I maintained.  One was an outreach to Christians in Afghanistan and the other regards God’s love for the mother who is considering an abortion and His love for her baby.  Both sites were focused on God’s perfect sovereignty, grace, and love for each of us.  After difficulties posting on these two pages, many rejections, and then silence from Facebook management, Facebook finally just completely shut me down.  They would not even allow me to pay my bills.

Initially, I was very distressed about it because I had become comfortable and elated that we had this platform called ‘Facebook’.  What an excellent way to reach out to the other end of the world to tell of God’s glory and love for each of us.  In my discouragement, the gentle Spirit of the Lord reassured me that the seeds He had me plant were definitely planted.  So many of the individuals I had reached previously, reached back out to me, so I hadn’t really lost anything!  God also reminded me that His work is DONE…it is FINISHED.  The world may cancel us…but the CANNOT CANCEL CHRIST.

Isaiah 55:11 tells us “…so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.”

Satan was defeated from the very beginning.  But he has the whole world blinded by a veil over their eyes because they do not have fear or reverence for God.  They hate his Word.  They never look up to God.  They keep God in a box and are completely sure they have all the answers for themselves.  They say ‘It’s time for Christianity to progress…but there is no progression to change perfection.  We serve a Holy God who canceled Satan long ago.  JESUS CANCELED SIN…HE CANCELED DEATH…GREAT JOY!!!  We are far from canceled.  We are a light that shines in the darkness when we continue to testify of God’s perfect love for us.

Matthew 5:14-16:  “You are the light of the world.  A city set on a hill cannot be hidden; nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house.  Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father in heaven.”
