COMMITMENT AND CELEBRATION
Our God Reigns
Yet Not I But Through Christ In Me
BENEDICTION AND DISMISSAL
We rejoice in the believer’s baptism of Josie Mares, which took place on Wednesday, June 17, during our Midweek Prayer Gathering.
This Sunday, we will also celebrate the infant baptisms of Walter Ian Nolan and Andrew Micah Paquette.
Begins October 25
Why do we sing together? Why do we serve, care, gather, and preach? Join us for Why We, a new sermon series exploring the purpose behind the practices that shape us as a church. Each Sunday begins a conversation – and each week offers a new reason to be part of it.
These are things we do together. But have you ever stopped to ask why? Join us for Why We – and be part of the conversation.
Next Generation Discipleship
Wed, October 21, 2026 · 6:00 – 7:10 p.m.
Our church is committed to raising up our next generation of disciples and spiritual leaders. That’s why we designed CORE, specifically for people in their 20s, 30s, and 40s.
We realize that whether you’re single or married, juggling the demands of work and family life often leaves little room for God and meaningful community. We hope that CORE can be a safe place to refocus on God and build that needed community.
CORE will be offered on Wednesdays at 6:00 p.m. beginning on September 16th. Many of our participants take advantage of dinner in The Commons during the 5 o’clock hour. CORE starts at 6:00 p.m. in Room 229 with a fun, quick game of team trivia before launching into our new study. Each week includes about 30 minutes of teaching, followed by group discussions led by table leaders who are a generation ahead of our 20s-40s group members.
We’re done by 7:10 p.m. so that parents can pick up their children from our extraordinary children’s ministry or STS programs.
CORE runs through Wednesday, November 11th.
Sat, October 24, 2026 · 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.
Join us at The Church of The Apostles for Why We Sing, an evening of biblical teaching with John Piper and worship led by Shane & Shane.
Doors open at 6:15 p.m. on Saturday, October 24. Don’t miss this special opportunity to deepen your understanding of worship and lift your voice in praise.
Sun, October 25, 2026 · 9:00 – 10:15 a.m.
This six-week course explores the foundations of the Christian faith through the story of Scripture, the character of God, the work of Jesus, and the shape of the Christian life. Together, we’ll learn how the Bible fits together, grow in our understanding of who God is, deepen our relationship with Him, and explore what it means to live as a disciple of Jesus.
Whether you’re new to Christianity, new to The Church of The Apostles, or simply looking to be re-grounded in the gospel, this course will help strengthen the core truths and practices that shape a Christ-centered life.
Sun, October 25, 2026 · 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.

Join us on November 4, 2026, for dinner at 5:00 p.m., followed by a time for family worship together in the Chapel at 6:00 p.m.

We’re excited to welcome Casey Hawley, who will share a personal testimony and encourage us in building and cultivating meaningful friendships.
We’ll also spend time together packing Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes—an opportunity to bless children around the world this Christmas. Come for an evening of good conversation, encouragement, friendship, and a chance to serve together. We’d love to have you with us!
Genuine Wisdom meets quarterly to create a space for women in their 20s and 30s to share life, be encouraged, and be inspired in the day-to-day journey of following Jesus. At our gatherings, women from different generations share with one another and help each other grow.
Fri, November 6, 2026 · 6:00 – 8:30 p.m.

A Mother–Son Event
Sun, November 8, 2026 · 4:30 – 7:00 p.m.
Calling all Moms & Sons, ages kindergarten through 5th grade! Let’s have some “out of this world” fun with the Mom & Son Serve & Jump on Sunday, November 8, from 4:30-7:00 p.m.

Thu, November 12, 2026 · 6:30 – 9:00 p.m.
Young Adults on the Square is an exciting monthly event. We will meet on the second Thursday of every month at The Brickyard — our NEW LOCATION just off the Marietta Square (129 Church St, Marietta, GA 30060).
This gathering is designed for young adults who enjoy great food, making new friends, hearing live music from local artists, and engaging with a compelling biblical message shared by different church leaders in the area.
This is a multi‑church event, with several local churches participating. Meeting at a neutral location rather than a church makes it much easier to invite someone who may not attend church but is interested in connecting with other young adults and learning more about what Christians believe.

Our Thanksgiving worship service will start your holiday off in a great way by giving thanks to our God for who He is and for all His blessings.
No childcare will be provided for this service; instead, please join us with your children/grandchildren in the Sanctuary.
STS Village Nights // June 28
We’re excited to kick off Village Nights, happening every other Sunday from 6–8 PM this summer! They will be fun, relaxed evenings for students who have completed 6th–12th grades to connect and enjoy time together.

River of Life Fall 2026 // Register by July 1
Healing brokenness and restoring the image of God in you!
So, why River of Life? Why has God led you/us to this program?
Because we are seeking restoration. We are seeking redemption. We are seeking to find healing and wholeness. We are seeking to reflect the Image of God again.
We are seeking to live in our True Self, our true identity that only He can reveal to us.
We were created in His image. He created us to be a good gift to Himself and to His creation.
How can we be restored to His image?
We must dig deep and address, honestly and transparently, what caused the brokenness.
Jesus is inviting you to allow Him to save you… To restore you… To redeem you… to give you healing… and to make you whole again, or perhaps for the very first time.
Jesus heals through community, His Word, His presence, testimony, confession, and prayer. Find God’s purpose for you with us.
Full payment is not due at this time. After completing your registration, you will be contacted to schedule an interview with a group leader. Once accepted, you will receive instructions on how to pay your balance.
Our nightly schedule:
Seasons Of The Heart // July 7
Discerning the Seasons
June 2, June 23, July 7, July 21
6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
In what is referred to as the Olivet Discourse in the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, and Luke, Jesus gave a clear picture of the last days. When asked what would be the sign of His coming and the end of the age, He warned, “See that no one leads you astray.” These last days are marked by deception. We see this all around us.
In the four sessions of Seasons of the Heart, we will focus on His Word to equip us with Truth and increase our discernment. Our guards against deception are doctrine (His Word) and discernment (His Spirit). Both give us the ability to see clearly the tactics of our enemy, Satan.
Our first session will focus on the fundamentals of The Faith and the book of Jude. The following sessions will guide us through scriptures that will equip us to see and thwart the lies of our enemy.
Our table times at the end will allow us to share insights and encourage one another. Please join us for a meal, fellowship, and personal preparation to live as lights in these last days.
Young Adults On The Square // July 9
Join us for our Young Adults gathering on July 9 as we enjoy an evening together at the Marietta Square! We will not meet at Boxwood Social Hall this month, but instead gather for dinner and fellowship at Two Birds Taphouse. Dinner begins at 6:30 p.m. Come enjoy great food, meaningful conversation, and time together in community!
No need to register, just show up! We look forward to seeing you there!
Everyday Witness // July 12
Every Christian is called to be a witness – but for many of us, that can feel intimidating, awkward, or difficult to know where to begin.
This one-off seminar is designed to help us take simple, practical steps toward sharing our faith through genuine relationships and everyday conversations. We’ll spend time exploring how to live lives that naturally point people to Jesus, how to start spiritual conversations, how to share your own story with confidence, and how to recognize opportunities God may already be placing in front of you.
You will walk away with clarity about the evangelism pathway at Apostles and be encouraged that God continues to work through ordinary believers, ordinary conversations, and ordinary acts of faithfulness.

Women’s Winter Retreat 2026 // February 5-7

In difficult situations and relationships, discerning a Christlike response can feel complicated.

At this year’s Winter Retreat, Love One Another: Doing Boundaries God’s Way, we’ll begin that conversation through three teaching sessions led by our very own Jeanine Dungan. We’ll also enjoy a fun game night, meaningful times of fellowship, and small-group discussions as we process and apply what we’re learning together.
Thank you Volunteers!

DivorceCare’s life-changing support groups welcome people and guide them on the path of recovery after separation or divorce. Grieving the loss of a loved one, whether recently or in the past, is an emotionally wrenching experience.
With over 25 years of helping people find comfort, GriefShare is a safe and welcoming place where the difficult emotions of grief can be shared and eventually understood.
During this 13-week support group, you’ll discover what to expect in the days ahead and what “normal” looks like when experiencing grief. Since there are no neat, orderly stages of grief, through encouraging videos and small group discussions, you’ll learn helpful ways of coping with grief, in all its unpredictability—and gain solid support for each step of the way.

Every year we invite the families in our program to Hope4Christmas, a celebration of Christ’s birth, where they are served a meal, play games and enjoy connection, spend time in worship, and hear a gospel message of hope.
In order for this event to be successful, we need your help along with about 300 other people! You can sign up here to:
Operation Christmas Child
Gingerbread House Decorating Party // December 13

Thanksgiving Day Service // November 27
Join us on Thanksgiving Day, November 27, from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. for a special service.
We will take this time to gather as a church family, sing songs of praise to our Savior, and hear powerful testimonies that you don’t want to miss.
Our Thanksgiving worship service will start your holiday off in a great way by giving thanks to our God for who He is and for all His blessings.
Annual Congregational Meeting // November 23
On Sunday, November 23, we will have our annual congregational meeting at The Church of The Apostles. Given the important nature of this year’s meeting, it will begin promptly at 9:45 a.m., and we will vote to elect five men to serve a three-year term on our Vestry. Ballots will be available from 8:30 to 9:40 a.m. in the main corridor. We will also present the 2026 budget. Please note we will not have our 9:00 a.m. service or classes.
Each of you has the opportunity to nominate members of our church you believe would serve well on our Vestry. As you pray about the nomination, begin by reading 1 Timothy 3:1-13 to give you a clear picture of the type of leader that you should nominate for election to our Vestry.
Please keep in mind that Vestry members must be faithful stewards. Being a faithful steward involves far more than just “tithing.” A godly steward must be a faithful steward of the Word of God, his home, and church ministry.
Of the names that are nominated, the Nominating Committee will prayerfully select ten men for the ballot. On November 23, each church member, 16 years and older, will have the opportunity to vote for five of the ten men nominated for Vestry service.
Children’s Ministry Volunteers Needed
If you have a heart for teaching God’s Word to the next generation, we hope you’ll consider joining us as a children’s ministry volunteer! We currently need 20 teaching pairs, which can be married couples or friends teaching together (you can sign up individually or with a friend).
If you have questions, please contact Sophie Ekstrom at sophie@apostles.org.

Oasis Grandparenting Event | Thrive // September 14
Thrive: Meet Grandchildren’s Core Needs So They Flourish
Grandkids don’t make unwise decisions or misbehave randomly—they’re often communicating unmet heart needs. In this compelling session, Dr. Kathy unpacks the Five Core Needs every child carries: security, identity, belonging, purpose, and competence. When these are met biblically and consistently, children grow spiritually and thrive in character, learning, and relationships. Learn about the influence you can have as you point them to God and your love. You’ll walk away with hope and practical ideas!
Speaker: Kathy Koch, PhD, Founder and CEO of Celebrate Kids, Inc.
Sing Praises to God Song Release // September 17
Next Wednesday, September 17th, Apostles Worship is releasing their very first single from the upcoming album Psalms. The song is called “Sing Praises to God”, inspired by Psalm 47, and you’ll be able to stream it wherever you listen to music. This song has become a meaningful part of our worship here at Apostles, and we pray it encourages you throughout your week—whether you’re at home, in the car, or spending time alone with the Lord.
Wives of the Word Pop-Up // September 20
Marriage has been God’s good idea from the very beginning! Before we flip the page in Genesis, we see God has created us male and female in His image, and it is not good for man to be alone. As we continue to turn the pages of our Bibles, we see that God has a beautiful plan for marriage that is woven throughout Scripture, culminating in the marriage supper of the Lamb. Clearly, God’s perspective on marriage is very important!
And yet, we live in a culture that sends confusing messages. We struggle with our own sin, brokenness, and life’s demands. We long to experience marriage as God has intended, but often we feel something isn’t right. We need to have God’s thoughts and God’s heart for marriage, but it can be challenging to sort through the voices of the world.
Wives of the Word aims to align our hearts with God’s word regarding marriage and to fully trust in the Lord’s mercy, strength, and redemptive power to transform our marriages for His glory and our good.
Join us as we explore what God’s word says to women about the purpose behind marriage, how trusting God can transform our hearts and lives, and how to live out wise principles in practical ways.
Oasis Made Whole Senior Care Resourcing Fair // August 21
Feeling overwhelmed by life’s next stage? You’re not alone. Many of us face stress and uncertainty as we navigate important life transitions for ourselves and our aging loved ones—finances, healthcare, senior living, and more. It’s easy to feel stuck, unsure of where to start or who to trust.
At The Church of The Apostles, we’ve partnered with the Atlanta Senior Care Network to identify eight key areas of support that will help you feel confident, equipped, and spiritually whole as you plan wisely for the future.
Join us for a special drop-in event where you can connect with 54 of Atlanta’s top senior care providers. You’ll walk away with valuable resources, expert guidance, and a renewed sense of peace, knowing your life is aligned with God’s purpose and well-organized.
Come when you can, stay as long as you’d like.
Let’s walk this journey together—and be Made Whole in Christ.

Seasons of the Heart 2025 // June 3
Jesus identified Himself as the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. This will guide our focus as we meet for Seasons of the Heart this summer.
We will look at the first eleven chapters of Genesis, the foundation for the rest of scripture. These are probably the most maligned chapters in all of the Bible, yet they are the bedrock of our faith.
Then, we will turn to a timely midpoint of 2 Peter 3 as we observe the ever-present mockery of the return of Jesus. Finally, we will close where God closes with Revelation 21 and 22, the glorious promise of a new heaven and a new earth.
Again this year, we will share a meal, enjoy fellowship, have a teaching time, and “table talk” with some questions to close our evening. Please join us as we deepen our appreciation of the Word and deepen friendships in community around our tables.
Led by Muriel Cash.

Maybe you find yourself readily taking responsibility for others’ feelings and problems. Or perhaps you focus so much on being loving and unselfish that you’ve forgotten your own limits and limitations. Or maybe it’s all the above.
Using the best-selling book Boundaries as a framework, our own board-certified Christian counselor, Bruce Cerbone, will lead this co-ed session to help you learn when to say yes and know how to say no in order to take control of your life and set healthy, biblical boundaries with your spouse, children, friends, parents, co-workers…and even yourself. Each session will feature teaching, discussion, and prayer.

Love: David, Lauren, and Graeme Nolan (Dad, Mama, and Big Brother)
Tomorrow, our family will be celebrating our second born son Isaac Andrew Nolan on what would be his 2nd birthday. In our GriefShare class back in the fall of 2023, we learned the priceless concept of him being “timeless in eternity.” While our hearts endure the constraints of earthly time, pain, and heartache, our son is already experiencing perfect, eternal life with our Heavenly Father, Christ, and the Holy Spirit. We are incredibly grateful for this truth, no matter how difficult it is to grasp at times. We pray that our suffering ultimately brings God glory for His goodness, His provision, His closeness, His salvation plan, and His Kingship.
Happy birthday to our baby boy. We love you.
