KEVIN CUTHBERTSON: TO THE ENDS OF THE EARTH

The primary call of every Christian is to participate in the Great Commission – to proclaim the Gospel to the ends of the Earth.

In the book of Colossians, Paul writes about his success in doing just that. He tells the church that the Gospel he preaches, the Gospel of Jesus Christ, is being believed and bearing fruit to the ends of the Earth.

This mission to spread the Gospel continues even to this day. God uses Christians and ministries across the world to spread the Gospel, bear fruit, and increase His kingdom.

Even if a Christian is not called to international missions, we are all called to pray. Paul regularly mentions in his letters that churches in cities across the world are praying for their own churches, as well as for the churches and faith of believers that they have never even met.

Paul repeatedly reminds Christians that they are members of the body of Christ: a universal church comprised of followers from every tribe, every tongue, every nation, and ever century.

Today, believers around the world are facing persecution and facing the loss of all of their earthly possessions as they fight the fight of faith that Jesus is worth everything. Even if we are not facing persecution in our nation and communities, we can participate by lifting our brothers and sisters in prayer to our heavenly Father.

We can join them in praying that God would do His incredible work in and through them, and that the Gospel would continue to bear fruit and increase among them.
